Welcome!  A little about My Turkey Hollow Twilight Zone and the one woman show behind it.

I’m Pam, Nurse, Mom, Gramma, Essential Oil Wellness Advocate, Writer and Creator of My Turkey Hollow Twilight Zone (MTHTZ), Gardener, Runner, Retired Bull Rider (that’s another story entirely), and lover of all things in nature, and now taking the exciting plunge to combine my 35 years of Nursing experience with my SPIN Farming business experience to help you dodge the diagnosis!

What Is SPIN Farming?

SPIN ~ Small Plot INtensive Farming, is all about growing fresh produce on, in my case, less than an acre.  It can be done on a much smaller plot of land than that if you have no more than a balcony or patio!  It’s about maximizing your space for it’s greatest potential!

That’s my motivation and goal here at MTHTZ.  Always learning, and teaching you, how to benefit from healthy foods at your fingertips.  How to prepare and preserve produce grown here in Taylor Ridge or in your own back yard.  I want to help you create healthy and holistic lifestyle habits, yet still live in the real world.

What’s In It For You?

In being a source of health and wellness for you, and your family, you will be able to provide your family with good quality produce without added chemicals.  Just the good stuff!

I would like to preface this by letting you know that my website is no substitute for your physician’s guidance.  I am not a doctor nor do I play one on TV.  Sorry . . . my humor is not for the weak.  But I can teach and give you information that might lead to questions you hadn’t thought of discussing with your health care provider before.

You Are What You Eat

In recent years you could find me selling my goods at the Freight House Food Hub, the Freight House Farmer’s Market, and my Nosh Box CSA.

Beginning in 2020 I did some business restructuring and offered produce, herbs, and microgreens exclusively through my Nosh Box CSA program that began in 2019.  Now in 2022, as I continue to improve and restructure my business, I’m helping people like you learn how to grow and utilize your produce in the healthiest way possible but still be realistic in knowing that, sometimes, people just need to indulge a bit!

I think, with the recent pandemic, it’s so important to continue to maintain a healthy immune system and lean into a little more self reliance and responsibility surrounding our health, not only with the food we eat, but also with the inclusion of exercise to keep your body, and brain, as healthy as reasonably possible.

Food is an exciting thing, and this is a way to expand your horizons a bit.  You will have the luxury of knowing who is growing your vegetables and where they came from when you’re doing it yourself!

We will explore some of the healthiest diets out there and how they can play a positive part in the health of your body and your brain.

While the food we eat is a huge part of our overall health, there’s more to it.  There are other healthy habits that all add up to living longer healthier lives, and I want to be there to encourage you every step of the way!

So What’s Changed?

I’ve been working 2 full time jobs 9 months out of the year (the other 3 months is a full time and a part time job) for the past few years.  It has become a realization that it isn’t sustainable to continue that schedule.

I love teaching and growing.  The hospital, believe it or not, and just growing things for people hasn’t allowed me to feel satisfied in my ability to do the teaching on a level I really want to do.  So I’m going with the old Chinese proverb ~

“if you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, if you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.”

Seriously, you will be hooked when you start growing your own food.

I will also provide info on finding healthy meat and dairy sources if you, like me, don’t live on a large acreage and you are not interested in eliminating those things from your diet.  I know people . . . let me introduce you to them!

Are You an Editor Looking for a Nurse Writer?

If you’re looking for someone who can do some real talk to your readers about their health, let me help you with that!  I have 35 years of experience caring for, working with, and teaching patients how to lead healthier lives every day!

If you have a particular subject and message you want to get across to your audience . . . lets talk!

Are You In?

We can turn the page to a healthier focus on life, get back to the things we love to do, continue on the journey of a healthy lifestyle, and cut loose from the things that really, really ruin our day!  It’s all about balance.

I look forward to joining with all of you to show you how you can reach your goal of finding contentment and health in living a more minimalistic, organic, mindful lifestyle, happily from the heart of my inner 70’s Flower Child!

Follow along for more information as the changes at MTHTZ continue in 2021 and beyond!

I hope to see you around the Twilight Zone!

Peace Out,

Pam
